FMIT Discussion:
-
Irma has weakened and slowed after making landfall in Cuba, making it a CAT 3 Hurricane with winds of 125mph. Re-strengthening is expected, however, as Irma moves back over water before reaching Florida. FMIT is projecting potentially catastrophic conditions in the Keys, Southwest/South Central Florida and up both coasts and Central Florida.
-
Storm Surge projected around South coast of Florida of 3-10 Feet.
-
Moving at 12 mph, isolated rains projected to reach up to 20” in some places, 8”-12” in many places. Localized Flooding will occur.
-
FMIT is initiating their CAT Response Procedures in Orlando. The EOC in Orlando will be staffed throughout the event and can be contacted through the FMIT CAT number above or by emailing irma@flcities.com.
-
FMIT EOC will be the communication point for Members to report damages & contact FMIT so we can handle the logistics of getting assistance to FMIT Members.
-
FMIT will be able to respond to Member needs once the conditions are safe to do so. This will be a massive debris creating & public safety event and most roads may be impassable for the first 24-72+ hours after the event. We will do our best to assist, but will keep the safety of local personnel as our top priority.
-
FMIT Members can assist FMIT Ride-Out teams by notifying Public Safety personnel in advance that FMIT CIRT teams & Emergency Response Vendors under the Turnkey Recovery Program will be on the ground and will need access to locations that may be safe to access, but may be restricted to the public by Public Safety procedures. The sooner we can access assets to gather Damage Assessments, the sooner we can help you recover. Some Members are indicating that they will have their personnel escort FMIT Ride-Out Team (CIRT) personnel to expedite the process.
-
FMIT has staged Ride-Out teams as far south as North Miami and will continue to populate Member EOCs today. This is the largest number of Ride-Out teams that we have had to deploy in the history of FMIT.
-
Please be patient if contacting FMIT/Synergy as our incoming call volume, requests for simpliCity and Trackdown login information and other information is increasing as the storm approaches. We will get to your requests as soon as possible.
