Model projections continue to show Florida in the cone of uncertainty with potential landfall in South Florida as early as Sunday. Tropical Storm-Force Winds could begin affecting south Florida as early as Saturday afternoon/evening.
-
Latest model runs move the storm slightly to the East, but still South/Southeast of Florida before taking a turn to the North. If this trend continues and path is accurate, it could affect a very large area of the state.
-
FMIT is initiating their CAT Response Procedures in Orlando and is ready to implement the TurnKey Recovery Program with Members throughout the state.
-
FMIT is currently planning for the staging of personnel and resources as we better understand the path the storm will take.
-
Please be patient if contacting FMIT/Synergy as our incoming call volume, requests for simpliCity and Trackdown login information and other information is increasing as the storm approaches. We will get to your requests as soon as possible.
FMIT Member Preparedness Actions:
-
Members should continue to monitor Hurricane Irma as well as FMIT Alerts and local/national weather forecasts.
-
Members should be in contact with internal Emergency Preparedness Teams in order to begin implementation of emergency preparedness measures.
-
Members should have their Mitigation teams removing all “high-risk” assets, including non-fixed structures, shades/tarps, flags, etc… to minimize damages. If you have lights installed with movable fixtures, they should be lowered to the lowest level or removed, if possible.
-
Members should have their lift stations, gate stations, and pump stations inspected to ensure they are currently free from debris as the storm is expected to cause a tremendous amount of debris damage.
-
Members should begin familiarizing themselves with installing and using the TrackDown Damage Assessment App by Clicking Here.
